“Privacy protection and fine grained access control to web database”

Web database is combination of database and web technology. Web database is placed on the Internet, there are many security problems. Web and distributed databases play the key role in most of these Web applications and thus it is critical to protect them from unauthorized access and malicious attacks. The secrecy and the integrity are two important demands of security system. When database acc...

Memory Access Pattern Protection for Resource-Constrained Devices

We propose a practice-oriented scheme for protecting RAM access pattern. We first consider an instance which relies on the use of a secure (trusted) hardware buffer; it achieves both security and performance levels acceptable in practice by adapting ideas from oblivious RAM mechanisms, yet without the expensive (re-)shuffling of buffers. Another instance requires no special hardware, but as a r...

Shuffles and Synchronized Shuffles: A Survey

We present an overview of different approaches to define shuffles and synchronized shuffles of words. The shuffle operations considered are distinguished by conditions according to which certain occurrences of symbols common to the original words may or must be identified (synchronized). The words that are shuffled may be infinite which leads to the possibility of unfair shuffling. In addition ...

Mixable Shuffles, Quasi-shuffles and Hopf Algebras

The quasi-shuffle product and mixable shuffle product are both generalizations of the shuffle product and have both been studied quite extensively recently. We relate these two generalizations and realize quasi-shuffle product algebras as subalgebras of mixable shuffle product algebras. As an application, we obtain Hopf algebra structures in free Rota-Baxter algebras.

Quasi-shuffles, Mixable Shuffles and Hopf Algebras

The quasi-shuffle product and mixable shuffle product are both generalizations of the shuffle product and have both been studied quite extensively recently. We relate these two generalizations and realize quasi-shuffle product algebras as subalgebras of mixable shuffle product algebras. This allows us to extend a previous result of Hopf algebra structure on Baxter algebras.
